The church building is now open for Private Prayer on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 10 – 11 am.
Services will begin again on Sunday 5th July, with an 8 o’clock Holy Communion and a 10.30 am Parish Eucharist. There will also be a 10 o’clock Holy Communion on Tuesdays. The layout will be different to ensure social distancing. We are looking forward to being able to worship together again.
And today the scaffolds are going up, so that the East Window can be put back in. Now repaired, it will make the building much lighter. Exciting days!
Since services and public access were suspended the church has been visited on a weekly basis. The church is still dressed for Lent, as it was when we closed. Inside it is calm and very quiet; all is well.
The only movement is the light reflected through the windows onto floors and walls.
It is a good job that there were plenty of pancakes available! The scene was set; mugs, tea and coffee ready, fillings ready and then the pancakes went out. It was a good chance to catch up and enjoy ourselves before the start of Lent.
